Can't see images in email

Have not seen a thread on this topic for years, so maybe worth some effort.
I am using Win 10, MS Edge to reach Xfinity.com and Comcast Connect to access email.
Most embedded images in emails are not showing up: only a blank box with a strange icon in one corner - NOT a red X.

I already have "allow preloading of externally linked images" checked.
Can anyone help?

Images do not have to be embedded in the email and sent to you. They can also be simply a link to the image out on the web somewhere. The problem in this case though, is if the link to the image is incorrect, or if the image has been moved or deleted on the sever, then the image cannot be displayed.

Make sense, I hope?

Thanks for the reply. However, I doubt there is anything wrong with the links, because this email is from a national organization and seen by hundreds or thousands of people. According to the office of this org, there has been no outpouring of complaints. So most recipients are apparently not having difficulty. I also get emails from Pinterest with many images, and I can see almost all of them without problem. Thus, I conclude there is some unfortunate combination of image format and my laptop or email characteristics. The problem is how to fix. Any other ideas? Thanks.

What happens if you right-click the little icon in that box where the image is and select "Open link in new window"?

Thank you for the attention to this problem.
If I click right or left on the icon, I am connected to the AAW website (the email is from AAW.org), but not to the actual "missing" image. There is no message "Open link in new window".
I can use my iPhone to view the email and the images are visible. As I postulated earlier, there must be some strange interaction between the image format and my Comcast Connect software.

When you right-click can you see the URL (link), or an option to Copy Link? If so, can you copy and paste into a reply here?

This screen shot is the best I can do to capture the link. I hovered on the icon inside the image box and the link appeared in the unfortunately small box in the lower left of the screen. If I tried to move the cursor to that link line, away from the icon, the link disappeared.
Recall that if I right or left click on the icon, I am taken to the AAW Home page, not the image "hiding" in the box.
Thank you for your time on this crazy problem.

I just discovered that, when looking at my emails using Win 10 Mail, I can see all images!!!

So, there is something about the Comcast email software that is the culprit. Unfortunately, using the Comcast inline help is useless. I can't even find out how to check that my Comcast software is the latest version.
Any other ideas about settings in the Comcast software which would help? How can I update the software?
Thank you.

Since I'm afraid I know nothing about "Comcast Email Software", hopefully someone that does will drop in here soon.

Tip: On a website's server you can often set it up to automatically immediately redirect any URL's trying to get to the older, insecure "http" to the newer and more secure "https" instead.

In other words, it was a human that made the wise decision to setup the above. ;)

OK. Here is the latest on this problem:
It appears that this is a problem with Microsoft Edge and maybe its interface with Comcast. I can see the images with Microsoft Mail! I can also see the images when I log into my Xfinity email using Google Chrome! But I cannot see the images when I log into my Xfinity email using Microsoft Edge.
Anyone got any ideas if there is some software switch inside Edge that I need to change?
