Windows 7 and GPU

Hello

I have a couple of questions I want to ask you guys about how the GPU performs on Windows 7 and XP. (GeForce 8400M GS 256mb

First up, DirectX

Example: Aliens vs Predator(2010)

Whenever I use Windows XP, I will play games on DirectX 9, right? And whenever I'm on Windows 7 I will play them on DirectX 10/11. Will I recive more FPS on XP than Windows 7 due to the lack of Directx10/11??

Next, GPU heating

If I use Windows 7 and the aero theme, will my gpu get faster heated than on XP? My GPU scored a 3,5 on the performance test in Control Panel on Windows 7.

Final question: Should I use windows 7 on this three year old computer with this old GPU, or should I stick to Windows XP because of the older DirectX and therefore "enhance" my gaming experience?

or does it not matter at all? Is my card even DirectX 10 ready? (it came with vista installed when I purchased it.)

I apologize if I've formulated this text badly or anything like that. But I hope you catch my meaning.

Windows 7 = DirectX11

Run this upgrade from MS to update the Direct X.
This needs to be done even with W7

As for the FPS it really depends on the application on which will work better.
I havent played AvP so I dont know any particulars about it.
Generally newer games will look better in DX10

Some games can be played in either DX10 or DX9 by adding -dx9 after the run command in a new shortcut.
