VESA mount plate is stuck on the back of my (curved) monitor

Hi, i'm not exactly sure where to go for help with this problem, but i've recently purchased a wall mount for a double monitor setup. I decided not to use that wall mount because of some issues with it, but my problem now is that the vesa plate which is attached to the back of both of my 27" curved Sceptre monitors is now stuck. One of the four screws is stripped because I tried so hard to remove it. I believe the problem is with the inside of the monitor. Whatever it's screwed into has possibly been broken and is now only spinning around in circles when I try to unscrew it. I'm not sure how to resolve this as i've never taken a monitor apart before so it makes me a bit nervous. Is there any advice I could get on this problem i'm having?

I dealt with this same issue for a client a month ago. They had tried to use the wrong thread screws to re-attach the mounting plate. I used an ice pick to 'stab' at an angle into the area adjacent to the stripped sleeve and managed to get the bolt out without dis-assembling the monitor.

You will still be down to three mounting points, but at 27", the monitor is not so heavy that it should matter. Just be careful not to strip out the head of the Phillips head screw in the attempt, otherwise a vise grip and lots of elbow grease will be required!

YMMV
