Hi, I've got an old Windows 98 PC I want to give away, I need to delete all the files properly. I can’t directly download a file shredding software package because the PC does not connect to the internet, so I’ve used my other PC, which has XP, to download the freeware. Then I copy it onto a CD and transfer it to the old machine. I've tried this with several types of file deletion software (eraser, file shredder, kill disk suite etc.), all of which say they are compatible with Windows 98. But I when try to run the software it doesn’t work. For instance, with “eraser”, I got the error message: “Error Starting Program
A required .DLL file, MSCOREE.DLL, was not found.”

The common theme with all the packages occurs during the CD burning phase, when I get the message:

Confirm Stream Loss
The file "NAME OF FILE DELETION SOFTWARE" has extra information attached to it that might be lost if you continue copying. The contents of the file will not be affected. Do you want to copy the file anyway?

I click yes, transfer the application to my old machine, and it doesn’t work. Can anyone tell me what I should be doing? Thanks in advance.
