Hello,

My computer started freezing awhile back, bu then it stopped, with an occasional freeze here or there. Now it has happened around five times today. Mostly when when I was whatching a video on full screen, one was when I was gaming, and one when I was just skyping.
When my computer freezes, the audio gets slowed down by like x10, but doesnt freeze, and then makes this really ugly sound (hard to explain)

My PC specs are:
Windows 7 Pro 32 bit
Intel(r) Core(TM)2 Duo CPU E7400 @ 2.80GHz 2.79 GHz
Ati HD Radeon 6870 1GB
Hitachi HDS5C3020ALA632 SATA 2TB HDD
ST3120026A 124GB HDD (both are internal)
4GB of RAM
ULTRA LSP 650Watt PSU

Please Help

Re: My computer freezes alot

Sorry for taking so long to answer i was really busy. I tried doing the clean startup method, and narrowed it down to the 'AMD External Events Utility' service. I turned it off ant haven't seen the problem since. I was wondering if that service does anything important, and if it was okay to turn it off.
Thank you very much for your answer joeten it helped me alot :grin::grin:

I disable mine also (ATI External Events Utility). It is not important. it is totally safe to keep it disabled.

Instructions for vista should be the same for win 7 1. In Windows Vista, click Start, type Services.msc in the Start Search box, and then click Services in the Programs list.
2. In the list of services, right-click Ati External Event Utility, and then click Properties.
3. Next to Startup type, change it to Disabled is selected, and then click OK.
4. On the same screen, Click on Stop
