Hello,

System 4 maybe dealing with your file/print sharing.

If you want to kill the task in Task Manager here's the command=> taskkill /F /im System 4

Goodluck, hope it works.

Were you trying to do this in Windows 7 or Vista? Are you logged on as an Admin if you're doing this in XP? Also I did notice that after im System, the No. 4 is missing, could this be the problem?

Re: Help Unlock my Port! I need it!

Open up your Task Manager then go to Processes Tab and locate System 4 here. The command that I gave you should work. See if it's says system4.exe maybe? Then try the command again. I use that command line all the time.

Re: Help Unlock my Port! I need it!

Thanks. Let's try something else. Control Panel=> Admin Tools=> Services=> locate System 4 then Stop or Disable the Service.
I don'y see it running in your Task Manager's Processes, it might be under Services.

Pls. post back.

Re: Help Unlock my Port! I need it!

There's one thing that you can do and be prepared, you might get disconnected from the network and temporary Internet disconnection. Stop all Services running and see which one is causing the issue and leave all of these Networking Services running:
• COM+ Event System (for WZC issues)
• Computer Browser
• DHCP Client
• DNS Client
• Network Connections
• Network Location Awareness
• Remote Procedure Call (RPC)
• Server
• TCP/IP Netbios helper
• Wireless Zero Configuration ( XP wireless configurations only)
• WLAN AutoConfig ( Vista wireless configurations only)
• Workstation

Test your connections after. Don't worry, we'll get there. FYI...I'm not a Bro:grin:
