Olevia 32" Flat LCD TV No audio

I sold my old Olevia LCD TV to a friend of mine. He wants to hook it up to his cable box. The problem is there is no sound.

The TV doesn't have a HDMI Port, only a DVI port, so the only way for him to connect his cable box up to the TV is by using a DVI TO HDMI plug. But he doesn't get sound. Can someone recommend something from Amazon.com that will give him audio? A converter box or plug?

Just for reference, when I used the TV I used the composite cables to get audio. I never used hdmi to dvi plug for audio.

Any help greatly appreciated!

Thanks!

Sony says to try this:
  1. Power off the TV, the A/V receiver and the set-top box (STB) if using one in your set-up.
  2. Unplug any HDMI cables that are connected to the A/V receiver.
  3. Unplug the TV, A/V receiver and STB power cords from the AC power outlet.
  4. Let the components remain without power for approximately 5 minutes.
  5. Plug the power cords back into the AC power outlet.
  6. Power back on all of the components.
  7. Reset the A/V receiver back to factory settings.
If no good, what about SVideo or Y/Pb/Pr using an HDMI connector?

I checked Amazon and there are converters that have the audio signal and it supposedly will work with DVI but I never tried that way. Any thoughts about converters from Amazon to get audio with dvi to hdmi cable?
