In a 3 computer network, each station (1,2,3) has a printer hooked to it and shared (report, receipt, contract). The application we use normally freezes up when there is no printers. Today it froze and when I tried to open the printer folder, it took a long long time. There was only add pritner, no printers. I looked in my registry (HKEY_LOCAL MACHINE\System\current control set\control\print\printers) and all of my printers where there. A hard boot gets me past this, but the bosses don't want to keep doing that. Any ideas?

use a proper printer deleter program like kyocera printer deleter to completely remove the drivers, reg entries, orphans, oem files etc. then reinstall.
You will be supprised how much crap you will find.
Sounds like the registry is not quite right.

You can also try deleting the drivers from the print server and reinstalling --

printers --> file --> server properties

and then on the drivers tab your installed printer drivers will be listed (this is Win2K, it will be slightly different for other versions of windows).

Try that and then reinstall and maybe that will help.
