Netgear wndr3700 throttling WAN throughput?

Netgear WNDR3700 V1 wireless gigabit router running DD-WRT v24-sp2 (02/11/13) std - build 20675
Netgear CM 700 DOCSIS 3 cable modem

I just upgraded my Comcast internet service to the "Blast" 200 Mbps download, 10 Mbps upload speeds but I am still only getting 20/3 speeds on my network both wireless and gigabit hardwired clients. I took a laptop down and connected up directly to the modem via ethernet cable and get 250/13 Mbps. For some reason it seems like the router WAN port is throttling the throughput... or maybe there is some communication incompatibility between the router and modem? The wired gigabit part of the router works fine, when I transfer movie files between PCs I get near gigabit throughput. So it really looks like the WAN port is the issue. Do I need a new router? Or maybe a reflash to later DDWRT? Any idea what's going on?

Your modem is gig enabled and so is the wan port of the router.

I set my routers wan port to gig only. Light should show that on the modem.

I had Comcast "blast" and they were not really able to deliver it. I live near downtown so they really don't have an excuse.

They just couldn't do it.

I know it is supposed to be gig on the WAN. And the router routs between the other ports at gig speeds. Plus the Comcast throughput is legitimately present as can be seen with a direct pc connection to the modem... I am seeing 250/13 that way. The router just won't rout more than 20/3 through the WAN to the switch. I have just updated the firmware and no difference. Also working with the guys on dd-wrt to troubleshoot.

Got it figured out. It seems my downstream and upstream QoS settings (not sure exactly what those numbers mean and not sure how they got set to those values) were eerily similar to the max throughputs I was seeing. I changed those to be a bit above the advertised rate and voila. Not quite getting the full 200 Mbps downstream but seeing like 150 down and 13 up.

One more update... one of the dd-wrt gurus assisting me said that the reason my connection via the router maxes out at ~150 Mbps as opposed to the 250 I see straight from the modem to my laptop gigabit port is that this old router doesn't have the CPU horsepower. So, not that it's totally necessary but I may be upgrading to a new router to get full speed. Mine is 6 years old after all and it has served well.
