Mouse problems

Hello, my mouse is not working anymore! I have a X7 mouse and my mouse only works if i hold the usb cable of the mouse in a very very certain angle and pull it with a very certain force ( i hold the wire 5 cm from the usb port not near the mouse). Does this mean the the usb wire of my mouse is disjointed/broken? I have been having this mouse works/ does not work ( device not identified ) for a longer time now but a week ago it was still very easy to just set the wire so the mouse would work but now its impossible. I am thinking about changing the usb cable of my X7 mouse. Has anyone changed the usb cable of a gaming mouse - any tips? Is this a hardcore procedure where i have to mess around with a soldering iron and manually connect all new wires that go into the usbcable or is this more like a high tech lego? :laugh:

P.S i am not 100% that it is broken wire issue, is there any chance that this is still a compatability issue?

hi raabish,,

to test hook up another mouse to your pc it will tell you if mouse or pc is the problem, but from what you discribe it sounds like you have a broken wire in the cable.

I am using another mouse as we speak. A old acme optical mouse. Its working like a charm. I want to fix the X7 mouse since this old mouse is not for gaming!

My parents lost the receipt for my mouse when they moved out. I am going to change the wire of my mouse tomorrow, ill let you know how much damage i manage to do
