Monitor Convergence Problems

There is a convergence problem with my NEC MultiSync XP21 monitor. THere seem to be convergence dials labled VCR, YHC, YH, YV, YVS. They do a little but they dont fix the problem. The problem is fixed temporarily for around 2 mins if i tap or fiddle with the board that the 5 adjustment dials are mounted to. Is there a way I can fix this for good? Right now the monitor is too blury to use and I can't keep playing with the board that the dials are on every 2 mins. Does anyone know how to fix this and know what the dials are used for? NEC Tech support didn't.

From what your saying it sounds like the connections are loose. I would take it to a repair shop, how old is this monitor?

Frankly, your monitor has out lived its normal expectancy. Last time I checked, it was 5 years for daily use monitors. A tv repair shop might be able to freshen the solder joints to the controls and spray some contact cleaner but it might not be cheap.

The monitor I am sitting in front of is 3 years old and cost me 450.00. The same monitor today is about 160.00
