I have a Lenova Yoga laptop purchased in August 2024. Whenever I turn on the pc this runs. I don't see it in the Task Manager Startup section. I thought it may have been related to McAfee which came with the pc as a trial version. I recently removed it, but this continues to come up. It's not a big deal. I wonder if I should just delete the file?

When removing McAfee I should have used their own uninstaller, as there's a leftover McAfee folder I found in \ProgramData when searching. It may have something to do with another McAfee component that I was prompted to retain or not - I thought I opted to remove it, something to do with web protection.

For others and for future reference. Remove McAfee trial, or any other version using the McAfee Removal tool. (MCPR). This will remove all elements of McAfee including it's Registry settings and other apps in its Suite. You may want to run it now just to be sure everything McAfee is removed from your computer.

Yes, I recall it was recommended that I do that a while back, my bad. Had I not heard that, I would have thought you wouldn't want to use the developer's tool as it could possibly install a scheduled reminder at some point to reconsider, or something else. But if you guys recommended it - that's the way to go.

Thanks for the link - I will download and run it.

Also check services.msc for additional MacAfee chaff. ...
So far no more of that Reboot file or anything to do with McAfee (that I'm aware of) - but noted services.msc and the article for reference.

I did run this last week - was concerned as it took quite a while to delete some files or applications. But I guess there was still much more leftover after I thought I deleted most everything.
