My problem just started last week, it worked fine before. Now whenever I try to connect to the internet it says "local only" although I have an excellent signal.

I hope someone can help! :upset: I have an aircard from AT&T, but it SUCKS!!!

Try removing all wireless profiles stored in your computer and re-connect to your home wireless network, make sure that you have the correct encryption needed if your wireless is secured.

Here's a guide=> Click on Start select Control Panel. Select the Network and Internet option and then click the Network and Sharing Center. In the tasks on the left click Manage Wireless Networks. Click your network name in the list, then right-click and select Remove Network. This will clear out the profile. Then go back to the Network and Sharing Center and click Connect to a network and reconnect to your network.

Disable IPV6, here's how.

Disable DHCP BROADCAST flag, here's a guide.

Okay, I tried everything you said except for the power cycle & it still doesn't work! When I try to connect to my wi-fi using the AT&T aircard, it says "your network is using an invalid DHCP address".

Now what??? Thanks so much in advance for your help!

To be able to read the log, you have to do it in an Elevated Command prompt.

Click on Start=> type in Search box=> COMMAND=> find at top of list=> RIGHT CLICK - RUN AS ADMIN

You'll have to analyze the log file entries that the Microsoft Windows Resource Checker (SFC.exe) program generates in Windows Vista cbs.log and here's how.

"Windows Resource Protection found corrupt files unable to fix. Details found in CBS.Log windir/Logs/CBS/CBS.log"

More tasks for you to do. You may stop and there's no need to proceed to the next step if is works.

Disable any Firewalls and Security Software from your computer.

==========================
See if ipconfig release and renew helps.
Click Start, and then click Run. Type cmd, then press enter.

From the command prompt type ipconfig /release, then press ENTER.
Then type ipconfig /renew, then press ENTER.

===========================
Click on Start=> All Programs=> Accessories and right click on Command Prompt, select "Run as Administrator" to open a command prompt.

In the command prompt or black screen type the following:
To Reset WINSOCK type: netsh winsock reset catalog then press enter

To Reset IPv4 TCP/IP type: netsh int ipv4 reset reset.log then press enter

To Reset IPv6 TCP/IP type: netsh int ipv6 reset reset.logthen press enter

Restart your computer after and test your internet connection.

===========================
Then do an ipconfig /all by following this directions and post it here.
Click on Start => in Quick search type the word cmd on the blank field. From the black screen, type the word ipconfig /all and press enter. Right click on the black screen or Command prompt then choose Select All and Paste the results here.

The ip config release/renew did not work because it said it wasn't connected to a network. I tried this while connected to my "local only" wi-fi.

This is what the ip config/all said when connected to wi-fi:

I was able to connect to wi-fi without even having my aircard plugged in. I was using my wi-fi adapter on my laptop. I called AT&T before I asked for your help. they said they thought it was a microsoft issue. So I guess I'm screwed. :sigh:
