hi,
this is my first post so if i don't do it right, please let me know how i can help ya'll help me.
my problem is with video playback in my browser. it is very choppy while it's downloading. I believe it is flash video type.
such as here
http://www.expertvillage.com/video/27516_chainsaw-mix-fuel.htm

after finally downloading the first time, subsequently it will play fine. but it kinda sucks having to wait for each video to finish playing once only to have to play it again. at least if it could tell me i have to wait upfront or something like downloading a file. i looked around my control panel settings trying to find some way to adjust flash player playback to optimize it for my particular internet speed but could not find anything related to that.

also in the past on youtube, i had a lot of problems with videos stopping download at some point short of their full length. they would play fine even while downloading, then just stop at some random point. and i could not get them to resume or reload fully. i couldn't understand it.
anyway i think these are separate issues but any help fixing or even understanding how flash works and the types of things that may cause these symptoms or even types of things i can rule out would be appreciated.

thanks,
jonathan

sounds like an internet speed problem - your internet speed is slower than the video can play OR your internet is too fast and the site's upload speed from their server is too slow. I suggest you open the video, hit pause so its not playing but will still be downloading. You will see the main bar stopped under the player but the other bar will show the download progress. You could then continue with surfing the net using tabbed browser (or doing other stuff on your comp) until the video has downloaded fully then watch it playing smoothly.
This is what I used to do when still on the old dial up connection before broadband became available here.
