I recently bought a Gigabyte GA-X58A-UD3R motherboard.
The problem is that, on pressing the power button, the motherboard LED light comes on, the fans begin to spin but the motherboard does not post, and there is no display, the motherboard will stay in this state for about 5 secs and then reboot and the same thing happens and this goes on endlessly.

Even after replacement of the motherboard under warranty claim 3 times, the issue has not been resolved. I checked all my components with another motherboard (GA-X58A-UD5) and the system ran with no issues.

My Processor: i7 950
RAM: Corsair XMS3 CMX6GX3M3A1600C9
Graphics Card: MSI nVidia GTX 460 Cyclone 1GB
SMPS: Corsair TX750W

I see many are facing the same issue with this motherboard. I tried solutions in other threads but didn't work.

Almost sounds as if Gigabyte has released a problematic mobo. What Rev. mobo do you have? And have you checked the Gigabyte web site for a BIOS upgrade?

It shows there that the Rev. 1 mobo is still operating with a Beta BIOS, version F8A. I don't know if that might be an issue but it would cause me to check their web site carefully to see if that mobo is running the latest BIOS.

You shouldn't have to return a mobo 3 times, I would have asked for a refund. Perhaps you'd still be allowed to do that.

Gigabyte don't have service center in India. AccelfrontLine Services is responsible for all gigabyte warranty.

Also its Rev 2.0

The person attending to my issue was surprised that the issue kept re-occurring with all three replacement motherboards and asked to me get my SMPS, Graphic Card, RAM, CPU to the Accell Service Center. As asked, I took all my components there and they checked my processor against the motherboard and noticed the issue again. They checked all my components with another motherboard (GA-X58A-UD5) and the system ran with no issues. Since this was the case, I asked the service center if they could replace my motherboard against the GA-X58A-UD5 and that I was willing to pay an extra amount. They said that it wasn't possible and was against company policy. However they asked me to give them some time and that they would surely address my issue. Two days back they asked me to come pick up my motherboard. On reaching there they told me that the issue lies with this model of the motherboard and is apparently a common issue. Gigabyte has not released a fix for this issue as this chipset is an old model.

Ahh, then it seems that we are in the same boat as your tech center...without a roll out of a BIOS fix by Gigabyte, I'd recommend you wait. Perhaps someone that's worked out a work around or has already contacted Gigabyte and received a fix will notice this tread.

Sorry. Hope it works out for you. The times I've run into something like this, the OEM did take the mobo back, so perhaps Gigabyte will step up and help you out.

Gigabyte has provided 3 warranty against workmanship defect. In the event of defect, they are liable to replace or repair the item. If unable to do so shall refund the market value of the product.

In my case they have to provide me with a solution. I have forwarded email to gigabyte and waiting for reply on this issue as there service center is unable to repair/replace the item to solve the issue.
