Every '.exe' file opens with Acrobat Reader

Hi,

I have a strange problem, quite recently i was trying to install a downloaded WinXP Theme. After installing, all my exe's stopped executing by themselves instead they only open with Adobe Acrobat reader.

I tried many things such as system restore, some reg files to correct association (downloaded from some forums) but to respite. Even sys restore etc was unable to run. Every 'exe' showed a 'Read' option on right-click. Finally i managed to get rid of this problem by un-installing Acrobat Reader, but now i cannot read pdf files.

The moment i install Acrobat Reader, its the same problem again. I have scanned the whole machine for any virus etc. but was unable to find any.

Any help would be appreciated.
