I am getting the following message:-
File Directory c:/System Volume Information.
EFaDATA\SYMEFA.DB-Journal is corrupt and unreadable.

I have tried to run check disk but it partially runs then stops as it cannot continue. I also run Norton 360 is this the problem?
Just before I had the EFaData message I got:-
cOOOO2102 Parameters 75b6bf7c 75b6bf7c 75b6bf7c 75b6bf7c

Not being a technical person I would be grateful for any help. Also is this a serious problem that could cause other effects if not resolved.

Thanks

Just when are you getting this message? Is it when you run Norton scan?

Everything I find seems to related/associated with Norton. It is having a problem with reading something in a restore point.

On this, I have no clue, could be related to the above.

cOOOO2102 Parameters 75b6bf7c 75b6bf7c 75b6bf7c 75b6bf7c
The first one is an easy fix, but we need to make sure you are not having any
other problems first.

Is the PC running OK, except the two above?

I Am running Norton 360 in the background.
The error message comes up when I boot the computer up.
When I try to run Check Disc I get the nessage:-

Hi BASEMENTGEEK.
I have been checking the Microsoft site. This indicates that I need to load SP3. However this was loaded at beginning of Jan 2010. You did say this could be easy to fix so I will await any further information.
Many Thanks

Hi:

If and only if everything seems to be ok,except the error you are getting, lets turn off the system restore and then immediately turn it back on again.

Follow this guide:

http://support.microsoft.com/kb/310405

This will clear ALL restore points and set a new one.

Hi There, thanks for info.
I emptied restore point. Tried to run Check disk, no success.
I created a new Restore Point tried to run Check disk again, still no success.
On each occasion the same message comes up when the computer reboots:-
"Cannot open volume for direct access" it then closes message and boots into windows with no problems.
I am not getting any error messages. However each time I start the computer it tries to carry out a check disk which fails with above message and loads up windows.
As far as I can ascertain the system seems to be working OK.
Grateful for any other info.
Thanks D
