Hi I hope someone can help me, I just got some new wired headphones and when I plug them into my pc I get a popup that says “you plugged in headphones” but when I go to the list of devices it doesn’t show up. If you have a solution pls explain it to me like I’m 5 I’m not very computer savvy

What type of connection do the headphones have? Mini Audio connector or USB? If USB are you plugging it into the Back USB port or the Front panel?
Left Click the Volume icon in the lower right of your computer screen by the clock. Click Open Sound Settings. Under Output, make sure Headphones are selected. If not, take the drop down arrow and choose it. All audio output will now be playing thru your headphones.

Press the Windows key +X and choose Device Manager. Expand Sound, Video, and Game Controlloers
Are there any devices with a Yellow Mark next to it? If so Right click and chose Uninstall, then remove the Mini cable from the front Audio Headphone port and restart the computer.
When the computer is up, Try plugging this device into the Green Speaker port on the back of the computer, and the front panel
If it's not listed in the Device Manager or as an Output sound device under Sound, then this headset is not working. Try the phones on another computer to test.
