What is the bugcheck (STOP error) on the BSOD?
Look about 1/2-way down for something like 0x0000008e (0xc0000005, 0x0, 0x0, 0x0).
The first two numbers are the most important.
Also - there may be a driver name such as disk.sys
My guess here would be a problem with the hard drive or RAM. See if running with a single RAM stick helps. The bugcheck and driver name may be of help.
