At first glance I thought I was looking at a light fitting, but realised shortly after that there was no 2nd contact if a bulb was screwed in.
A relative of the apartment owner (in her 80s) where I used to rent, brought it with him from, I believe, North America or Canada, which is where he comes from. Probably on a sales trip. Been here years ago trying to sell doors.
I am now thinking maybe smoke detector but i have never seen one up close.
There are no external markings. Just a power button and 3 small holes plus a power jack at the back.
Whatever screws in contacts s spring loaded plate in tne centre, which moves down when pushing with a finger. Turning upside down reveals a smaller hole, possibly threaded at the start showing the same spring loaded plate or contact which moves towards the opening when pushed from the other side.
I haven't opened it up, since it is not mine.
I humbly ask the audience if they have any ideas.
I tried Google without success.
