For your information, IE is no longer a viable alternative browser. You've probably heard it is being retired, so it's best to just let it die. Better alternatives to Firefox are Chrome and Opera. I strongly recommend installing one of them, or both if you want, as alternatives for times when you encounter issues with your favourite browser, like now.
Having said that, have you cleared cookies and cache on Firefox yet? This should always be the first troubleshooting step if you're having issues with a specific site and not all of them. Firefox lets you clear data for specific sites instead of all data, so you can use that option to only delete youtube data. Close ALL youtube tabs then go to Menu > Options > Privacy & Security > Cookies and Site Data > Manage Data... type youtube inside the search box, click Remove All Shown > Save Changes > Remove. This will remove all youtube site data and cookies from Firefox. Open a new tab and visit youtube, see how it goes.
On a side note, is there any particular reason why you're not running the latest version of Firefox?
