Alright, I'll start from the beginning. A few days ago I bought the Beta version of a game called Minecraft, which uses Java to run. I downloaded it from the site, and played the game via a launcher from my desktop. It was running fine until earlier, when it started freezing as I was playing and showing me a black screen. To try and solve the problem, I removed and reinstalled Java. This didn't fix the problem. However, I can still play the game just fine if I use the "play in browser" option.
After I reinstalled Java I found that Youtube videos now only showed up as a black screen (they too, were working fine earlier). However, viewing the videos from another site seems to work. An example would be right off the Minecraft page: Minecraft which shows a video introducing you to the game.
Basically, I'm stuck with a game I just bought but can't play except in my browser, and I'm pretty sure I killed Youtube.
I don't believe the problem is Flash, as I uninstalled and reinstalled that again just now for good measure - no change to Youtube. If I go to a user's page on Youtube to view videos, the page loads for a brief moment before going mostly blank (not black, though the video stays black).
Any help with this would be much appreciated, as it's been driving me up a wall for a few hours now. If needed, I can provide screenshots of Youtube messing up.
Thanks,
Cole
