My windows 98 halts at the start on the following errors:
Error Loading Kernel. You must reinstall Windows.
Error loading GDI.EXE. You must reinstall Windows.
missed keyboard.drv msound.drv comm.drv
fatal exception has occured at 0167:00000015 .....
Any ideas,pls

So just boot to your Win98 boot floppy and choose boot with CD-Rom support. Insert the Win98 CD and type E:\ then enter to change to the CD Drive which should now be E.
Type setup and do an over install of the operating system.

Boot with a diskette and try to copy GDI.exe into c:\windows\system ; c:\windows and c:\windows\sistem32

Then erase bootlog.prv and reboot your computer .
