I have an Acer ASE360 desktop that will not boot. It seized up the other day and when I tried to reboot, all I got was a black screen (with no cursor). I tried to enter all versions of safe mode with no success, reloading last known good menu, etc. all met with failure. When I tried to boot in safe mode, the last thing that loaded was ". . . config\system" and then nothing. I had recently moved all the critical files to another computer so I wasn't too concerned with losing anything. I used the Acer recovery discs and reloaded everything. No success. I still got the same black screen. I have loaded Bart PE and can see the contents of the hard drive, ran chkdsk, but still no progress. I don't have an XP boot disk and don't have any way to make one. Please help!
