newbie here, but here is the deal....at the welcome screen were i would usually login, well, the user accounts are missing. i ctrl + alt + del. to enter in the admin. password, but doesn't recognize it. anybody have a clue....it is XP.

Are you the administrator? Perhaps another user took out the accounts and password? Did you or anyone else use the system restore feature for any reason?

XP Problem

I am not the administrator. It was my brother, but he bought a new cpu and I took it. And if anyone used the restore feature, that I am unsure. I left town for a weekend and when I returned, the user accounts at the Welcome screen were missing. The only thing that I think that could be wrong is that my roommate setup a network between our two computers and his is the host computer. But that is beyond me. Thnks

Yup. Sounds like your roomate did something. Did he know your password?

no, he didn't....is there anything I can do. Cause sometimes I just want to throw it out the window to smash a cat. RAAAAHHH.
