I have not had a chance to look into this problem in depth yet. but thought I'd post cause I'm sure somebody else has run into this problem.

I just build a system, Asus P5B mobo, Core Duo 2 processor 2.15 GB, and an Asus PCI-E video card.

When I was trying to install XP the first time, with 2 GB of memory installed, I got an error message - Error on line 1733 in etc etc etc - I looked the error message and it said possible ram problem if 2 GB installed, so I removed one stick and installed fine. Then I put the stick of ram back in bringing the system up to 2 GB and windows will not start - endless reboot.

Bad ram?- both sticks work separately - just not together. Am I missing something?

Any help most appreciated.

Did you purchase the memory as a dual channel kit?

Before windows starts to load press F8 for the boot options window. Choose "Disable automatic restart on system failure" option. If you get a BSoD on reboot, post the error here.

Try them in different slot configurations. If they are in the same color slot, put them in different color slot, and vice versa. It might be being picky about the dual channel configuration.

Thanks for the reply. First thing I tried was different combinations. System will only boot with one configuration and then XP won't load.
