xp pro won't boot at all

Dell D610 xp pro sp2, i beleive I have a virus and can't boot into safe mood or any other mode, I am able to get into the recovery console using the xp install disk. What's the next step to fix this without loosing all my data (pictures and documens)? Thanks.

I do get the BSOD with a message of- *** stop 0x0000007b 0xF78A6528, 0x00000000, 0x00000000

I am going to pull the drive and hook it up to a usb a see if I can recover some of my data (most is backed up anyways) then I am just going to do a fresh install.
