I recently installed Windows XP Pro (fresh install) a few days ago windows began to slow down (very very slow).
I found an article about system slow down that suggested I disable Terminal Services, I disabled this and the system speeded up a little, it appears the only way I can get a decent speed is to move my mouse erratically, doing this somehow causes applications to load and run faster, while moving the mouse the hard disk light is flashing fast, when the mouse isn’t moving the light is flashing slow and the program takes ages to load, while scanning for Ad-ware it usually takes about 2 minutes with this new slowdown it took about 3 hours.. I tried it again, this time moving the mouse and it took about 5 minutes.
I have Service Pack 1 for XP and all other updates.
PC-Cillin 2003 (Fully Registered)
Ad-ware 6.0 Professional (Not Free Version)
SpyBot S&D (Latest Version and Latest Includes)
I have a trend Micro firewall, and a firewall built into the router.
pls Help
