I have Windows XP Professional on my laptop. Clicking on "My Computer" used to display all my drives and I could click on them and navigate through them. No longer. Something changed and I don't know why and I don't know how to fix it, though I've tried. Now when I click on "My Computer," I get a search screen only. So basically, clicking on "My Computer" used to work like Windows Explorer, but now it works like a search program and I hate it. How do I change it back? Thanks so much.

The first link made me hesitate. I am not getting the problem throughout all folders, just the "My Computer" link in the Windows Start Menu. I'll look the other links over too. Thanks for trying to help.

I just had this very same problem.

It was because IE7 was installed, then uninstalled. Reinstalling IE7 fixed it. It also did other weird things, like removed the navigate buttons on Windows Explorer.
