XP Pro can see some usb harddrives (on my computer),but does not see others.

I know the drives work, because other computers (my laptop, work computer) CAN see them (on my computer) If I right click MY Computer, click MANAGE, then STORAGE, DISK MANAGEMENT it shows all the drives, I just can't get into them
