Hi, have a windows 2000 server network with active directory.all workstations are winxp
neeed to rebuild a computer. question is should i purchase XP or go ahead and get Vista business. will xp and vista Cooperate with each other....

without knowing anything about that computer you are rebuilding, stick with xp.

i relaced the motherboard,processor and memory
MSI board K9MM-V
AMD athlon 64 3500
Kingston 1 gig 800mhz memory


need to get OS just wondering how long before XP is no longer supported

anyone know when XP is no longer supported??

i currently run a win server2003 enviroment with primarliy vista and xp, making the assumption that all your hardware supports it. 1gb of ram is sufficient if you want to run office packages and thats about it if the person using it need lots of apps running at once or more intensive program then you will need an extra gig of ram, more over if your using office version older then 2003 you will have issues. my experience is vista with office 03 and 2007 perfect and you will have to go to it eventually unless the world converts to linux
