i use a win xp based pc...

itunes used to work perfectly till a few days ago when i got a player called mpcstar that comes with bitcomet....after that the error msg that i keep getting when mpcstar is installed is that the quicktime installed is out of date... but i do have the latest version of both itunes and quicktime installed.

when the mpcstar player is uninstalled the msg that i get is that quicktime is not installed... but it is ... i have tried everything but reformatting... please someone help.... i cannot even sync my iphone any longer due to this.

i uninstalled and reinstalled both itunes and quicktime again and again but with mpcstar installed the error msg states that is that quicktime 7.3 is installed while 7.5 is required. this is while the latest version is installed.

and with the mpcstar player uninstalled the error msg is that quicktime is not installed while it actually is. i am going crazy trying to slove this issue ... and this is only with itunes. every other A/V programme is working perfectly.

please help...

thank you for your valuable time.

It could be a registry entry causing the problem.
I would suggest that you install “spybot search and destroy”, which shows you if anything is trying to make registry changes.
Install mpcstar and let spybot tell you if there are any registry changes during the install, then uninstall mpcstar and delete its registry files (with regedit for example).

I would also recommend another video player like vlc player or media player classic (with k light codec pack)
