Can anyone tell me if you can make an install disk from an XP system that came pre-loaded? When I bought the system ( an HP) it came with no disks.

XP CD-Rom.. No
XP CD-Backup.. Yes

Unfortunatly the only thing you may have and are stuck with is an HP restore disk. The real thing is needed my friend!

I am not trying to hijack the thread but I am also in need of a boot disk. My laptop is a Dell and they were kind enough to give me a WIndows XP Reinstallation CD. However, my laptop refuses to boot from the CD. I have changed the BIOS to boot from CD-Rom and it skips right over it. How would I go about creating a boot disk on a floppy because I am just gonna rebuild the stupid computer. That worm caused so many problems on this laptop...

The HP system has a RESTORE PARTITION that has an image of the original configuration. It should have come with a floppy that will invoke the restore process.

How would I go about creating a boot disk on a floppy because I am just gonna rebuild the stupid computer.

WinXP Home
WinXP Professional
