My computer is dying slowly.
It has been through 2 or 3 system recoveries.
Here's the deal:
It runs alright when it first starts up. . And then it slowly decreases in capability to . . well. . be a computer.
It gets all slow . . . More pop ups come. . . And it isn't a good thing.
So my sister let me borrow her MemTurbo thing. .
(it recovers RAM and scrubs RAM)
I downloaded it. . And it has helped. . But it made it worse all the same.
In the beginning of my *computer sessions* its great. . then it gets worse and worse. . so I have to recover RAM every 30 minutes or something. .
Its like a drug.
:upset:
TO SUM IT UP:
I think my computer has various amounts of viruses.
I think it is because I haven't been taking care of it all that well.
Yes. . I know. . I should get virus protecters and clean it up every now and then. .
I didn't know that when I got it. .And didn't realize it until a few weeks ago. .>.<
So I'm trying to find a good virus freeware . .
And I'm asking if anyone knows of any.
(I've tried the Norton Antivirus because it came with the computer. . It SUCKS!)

Thank you in advance. . If you can help my sick computer. .

Alright I tried to do that. . the steps and such. .
But I got really confused.
I just did a scan from winantivirus pro . . And I have 180 threats on my machine. . And I looked through them and a lot of them are trojan.
:upset:
Ugh.
Now my computer is slower than ever and I'm trying to fix it but since it is slow it is very very difficult to fix it.
Could someone help me with the steps? Please?

Hi

All is not yet lost. The best thing to do now is simply download HijackThis - this program will help us determine if there is any spyware/malware on your computer.
  • Create a folder at C:\HJT and move HijackThis.exe there.
  • Make sure you close down EVERY open window and close ALL browser windows. The only thing that should be open is the HijackThis program.
  • Run a scan and save the log file.
  • Copy the text file (Ctrl+A then Ctrl+C) and paste it (Ctrl+V) in a new thread in the HJT Forum (do not attach it or post it here).
  • Do not fix any entries in HijackThis since they may be harmless.
[*]Make sure to include the System information at the top of the log as well.

We'll then have a look and provide instructions to clean your system, if required. Please note that the HJT forum is constantly busy, so I would ask that you be patient while waiting for a reply.
