Anyone know why file encryption would be grayed out of my file properties so I can't use it? Is there an option somewhere that I need to turn this on? Also I'm on the administator account or one of them.

What file system are you using FAT32 or NTFS? I believe that you cannnot do encyption with FAT32 only in NTFS.
I second Drifter's post.
You cannot use Windows encryption in XP Home its a Pro only feature.
I second the techs post....having one of thoes days and it looked like the thing to do...and yes it is a NTFS issue as well
Oh, that sucks. Microsoft needs to just remove that option, not gray it out. Darn that Bill Gates! Thanks for the input.
They're showing you what your missing :D

There's better 3rd party encryption software out there anyway. PGP or Bestcrypt for example rule over that Windows crap.
!!! ... but, but, .... if you use 3rd party encryption, M$ can't read your files when they upload them!!! ;) :D
