Having a few problems with windows XP Home.
As seen in previous threads, I to had the problem of the windows folder in the recycle bin but unable to delete it etc... after that it just started slowing down and now won't even boot up. I've kept all anti-virus and ad-aware updated and run daily all before this started. I'm thinking it may have something to do with the fact that I reinstalled windows without formatting the drive.

Anyway, What i'm curious to know is how can I access the command prompt on startup as to try and bypass the whole welcome screen? I've already tried F8 - Boot in safemode with command etc... all that stuff just goes straight to the welcome screen before startup.

So basically in a nut shell I'm wanting to 1/. Disable the whole welcome screen thing and go straight to windows and 2/. be able to access the command prompt on bootup to be able to run system restore.

if none of this works I'll just format and reinstall.

P.S. how can i transfer files from C drive to D drive in the command prompt?

Cheers.

Hi and Welcome to TSF

You need to boot to your Windows XP cd to access a command prompt

You might need to change your boot sequence in the BIOS to boot from the cd drive
