XL12000 Epson scan lines

Hello,
We have an Epson XL 12000 that just started having scan lines. Big wide lines of different colors. Doesn't matter if the image is negative, positive, or print, black & white or color.
We've cleaned the glass excessively and the scanner is no longer under warranty. We switched out the lid with a regular lid (not glass) & still have the issue. Any ideas on what can be causing this? If I have to take the unit apart are there any recommended You Tube videos? TIA

Thank you, I did see this one. It's for a feeder type scanner rather than a flatbed scanner though. I also found one for the V700 flatbed scanner, but looking for more info on the XL12000. Thank you again. And I'm not even sure if cleaning the glass will help.

UPDATE: We were able to clean even more so near the calibration area and found there were some stubborn, sticky smudges, we used a bright light to see them. We got rid of those and now all lines are gone. These smudges were on the outside of the glass, we didn't have to take the scanner apart to get to them. If you do however have to take the scanner apart the 4 screws to do so are under teeny little tabs. These tabs blend into the white, plastic base, housing and are on the angled part of the base housing (at glass level), just under the grey lid area. Use a tiny flat head screwdriver to pop up those white tabs to reveal the screws underneath.
