Hi everyone!

So can someone tell me why the X2 demo lags on my pc?

Spec:
3000+ Athlon 64
1024 MB ram ~400Mhz
128mb Geforce 6 6600GT

the game lags like hell with all detail on low (640x480 res. 16 bit colour etc.), i can run half life 2 full detail with no lag at all so why is it that this game lags so badly? Is it just because it's a bad demo?

come on some must have played this game, atleast could one of you download the demo so that you can tell me how it performed on your pc please.

Problay because your have a slow internet coneection. or does download and then install on to your hardrive? if so i dont no y but if u have to paly it of a server it may be because of the internet.

I think we're talking about graphics and control lag and stuttering, not network lag here.

Have you updated your drivers to the latest versions, specifically the graphics card? If so, have actually you tried running the game on an older graphics card driver? It may well help. You certainly shouldn't be getting problems with a system like that, I've run X2 perfectly fine on a worse system than yours.

Try contacting Egosoft direct, they may know of an incompatibility with a piece of hardware you have (such as it may not play nice with 64bit processors perhaps?).

i am just gonna wait till X3:reunion (out end of month) so it doesn't matter now, though i have now realized it only happens when there is a text display at the bottom, the rest of the time it is fine. the reason it used to lag all of the time was because i kept doin tutorials (loads of text at bottom all the time) but if i play the normal game it is ok. Thanks for trying though!
