x.exe is not a valid win32 program

Hello,

I have a big problem. My norton antivirus program just stopped working one day (I got a message is not a valid win32 program) and now I can't seem to install any new antivirus software. The real-time monitoring and scanning are disabled. When I try to start Spybot or Kaspersky AV I get a message like this:
spybotSD.exe is not valid Win32 application

I also seems I cannot run my Windows XP in safe mode, becouse it simply reboots. My computer probably is infected with some sort of spy/maleware.

What can I do to try to clean it?

I would appreciate any help or advice you can give me.

Thank you!

Hi, welcome to TSF!

Download combofix.exe

  • Double click combo-fix.exe & follow the prompts.
  • When finished, it shall produce a log for you. Post that log in your next reply along with a fresh HijackThis log.
Note:
  • Do not mouseclick combofix's window whilst it's running. That may cause it to stall.
  • Do not post the ComboFix-quarantined-files.txt - unless I ask you to.
  • If your Antivirus software is detecting combofix or a part of it as a virus, please choose to ignore it as Antivirus products cannot determine the good/bad use of some softwares embedded in combofix.
