I currently have 2gb of ram. I like to play games and when I play cod4 with some programs running in the background I use about 1.5gb of my 2gb. when I minimize cod4 4 I get connections interruptions when I reopen the window. Would adding more ram help that?

2GB of RAM should be fine for running Call of Duty 4, seeing as my system with 1GB can run many of the newest games out these days (meh, it's a bit old, but it works). What are the actual problems when you are playing?

And post your full system specifications please...
Maybe some other component is causing system bottleneck

When I minimize the game and reopen it I get connection interruptions and lag really bad for about 3 seconds,then it goes away. Thats really about it unless I get on a map with a lot of detail and theirs choppers and air strikes going like crazy. then I lag somewhat.

My system specs are

windows XP home edition
intels dual cpu @1/80GHz
2gb of ram running at 1.79GHz
Ati radeon HD 2400 256mb.

and yes I do know I have a small video card,but that what you get when you buy stock from dell. Upgrading my video card is already in my plans but I wanted to start with something small and cheap first. Anything else you need please ask.
