In 2004, I was able to set a picture box as a "placeholder" so another user could open the document and just click on my placeholder to insert their picture. The other person is using Word 2003 and it doesn't work. Looking into it, I don't see the "placeholder" option in the advanced format picture window. Does anyone know if there is a way to create a picture placeholder in Word 2003? Perhaps it's called something else. THanks.

Hi fairvieweditor,

You can insert a textbox as a picture placeholder. If your user inserts the picture into the text box, the picture will scale to fit the space available.

AFAIK, the only picture placeholder option for Word has to do with whether the pictures or their placeholders are shown on screen for editing purposes. Displaying the picture placeholders instead of the pictures allows faster scrolling etc. - but you have to have the picture inserted for this to work.
