Won't connect to internet when plugged into router

Hi, I recently moved and also bought a new iMac. I just got internet installed by Comcast yesterday and it works fine when I plug the modem directly into the Mac. I want to set up my Linksys Router but even after following directions on how to set up linksys on a Mac, the internet isn't working. I have the modem plugged into the router and the router plugged into the computer. My wireless network comes up on Airport and shows full signal but when I open up Safari or Firefox, the web pages don't load. I called Mac and they told me that the connection is working fine so it's a problem with Linksys. I originally intended to have the Mac be the main computer(the one plugged into the router) but I also have a PC and I'm pretty new to this Mac so I thought it may be easier to instead make the PC be the main one because that's how I had it before I moved. But when I plugged the router to the PC, I have the same sort of problem I had with the Mac. I have a pop up bubble in the lower right corner saying I have "Connection with 100.00 mbps" or something like that but when I try to open up Internet Explorer, the internet doesn't work and I get a "webpage unavailable because you are offline." I did go to the 192.168.1.1 on the PC but whenever I try to 'save settings,' I get "Internet Explorer cannot display the page." Since the both of the computers have sort of the same problem, I wonder if the problem is with the Linksys router or maybe the Comcast connection? Please help me out, I've read so many threads and tried so many things and nothing is working.

I have a Mac OS X version 10.6.2
My PC has Windows XP
My router is Linksys WRT54G
