I'm trying to burn a Memorex DVD RW with a few pictures from Kodak EasyShare. I continue to get message- Insert recordable disc- the package clearly states that this is type I need.
Computer- Dell Dimension 4600 Windows XP NEC DVD RW ND 2100AD
I've gone through help menus for Dell and Kodak.
Drive works to read and write game program- Sims 2- but won't burn to disc any pictures or music.

Is the Memorex DVD RW a plus or minus disc? (DVD+RW or DVD-RW)

As far as I can tell, from reading customer reviews and forum posts, your NEC drive only supports plus discs, but upgrading its firmware from 2100 to 2510 allows the use of minus discs, although doing this might void the warranty.

It is a DVD-RW (MINUS) Now I just have to figure out how to (and if I can) upgrade the firmware from 2100 to 2510. Thank you for your help.
