Well This issue has happened to me before but I had no time to query about it since my HDD fried right after. I seem to be unable to view any video in WMP format from any site. I contently get this lovely error screen:

I've done the whole Windows circle of knowledge and changed my network protocol to Http (which it was already set) and went through the trouble shooting guide but for some reason anything in all my browsers does not want to play. I've also got WMP as my default player and set to play all media formats.
I only just installed this Os and its running sp1. Any suggestions?

What version of WMP are you using? 8, 9, 10 or 11?

I guess that would be helpful wouldnt it? I am using 10. 11 requires Sp2

Can you open the URL directly inside wmp? File > Open URL?

No. It informs me that the player may not support the file or the codec.

What does the URL end in after the dot (.)

To me, it seems like you may need a codec to convert the file to a music or video for WMP

.com/av/?v=
is the end of the URL tag. It automatically comes up as a WMP format in the browser.
