Hello, I'm on an Acer aspire 5130 vista 32

my wireless connectivity with this laptop has gradually been getting worse, cutting itself off more and more often and is getting to a ridiculous point now, at first I thought it was just that there was to much interference stopping a consistent signal coming through but I think thats out as a possibility since a mate of mine brought his laptop (pretty old beaten up one at that) to my house and had no problems at all anywhere which is that same case with my ipod

so any thoughts? could this be resolved with a software change of some sort or am I looking at a pc card or whatever to add to my laptop?

Well, I'd update the drivers on the machine, if that doesn't do it, maybe the wireless card is dying. Even though your friend's machine works, have you tried changing the router's channel?

Ok, firmware updated, I'll report back in a fews once I've seen if it makes a difference

right, no progress, firmware fully updated and tried channel switching neither of which have made a difference

Take the laptop to another location with a wireless network and see if it has the same issues.
