I have a D-Link DI-524 wireless router with a ADSL network connection to a PC. It works fine on the PC and on any pc connected via a network cable. When I try to connect wireless, the router does not seem to issue an IP. I can see that the router is broadcasting the SSID and DHCP is enabled on the router but no matter what I try, a wireless connection cannot be made to the router.

Any suggestions?

Regards,

JT.

Is the wireless router 802.11a, 802.11b or 802.11g? Your wireless network card could be using the wrong setting. If you go to the properties of the wireless card and click configure you can change the mode there.

What are the indications on the wireless PC?

Open a DOS window and type:

IPCONFIG /ALL >C:\RESULT.TXT

Open C:\RESULT.TXT with Notepad and copy/paste the entire results here.

The router was actually faulty. After changing it, I had no further issues.

Thank you for the support, and responses.

JT.
