Wireless Router Dilemma

1344 Views 5 Replies 3 Participants Last post by  ThisRandomGuy
I recently switched from Bellsouth's ISP to Comcast high speed internet. I tried to connect the Bellsouth wireless router to my Comcast modem. The connection works perfectly for the desktop computer, but I can't connect wirelessly with my laptop. The wireless router is password protected. I threw away all of my info with Bellsouth when I switched ISPs. Is there any way to disable the password protection for my wireless connection?

Sure, reset the router to factory defaults by holding down the reset for 10 seconds or more with power on. Then you can enter the setup and configure it any way you like.

You should be able to take the make/model and find the manual on the web.
I tried resetting the modem, but it did something weird. When I tryed to open an internet page, a page opened up that asks me for a bellsouth email and password. This opens up for every page I try to visit. I might just break down and get a brand new router. :(
They probably have a custom firmware on the router. The easiest thing would be to buy a new router.
Yep, that would be my guess. You could ask the Bell boys what you should type in there.
haha, i'll pass. They'll probably ask for the router back. I'll just fork out some cash for a new one. I really appreciate the help. Thank you.
