Hello,

My brother-in-law wants to hook up is other computer to the internet. He went out and bought a Linksys wireless router. His main computer runs Vista, his other runs XP.

The first one connects perfectly, he has a usb device that he plugs into his second computer. He goes in and types the WEP key in and connects to the access point, but that is as far as it will go. Although it says connected, he cannot get tothe internet at all.

The USB device he uses is about 3 years old, could it be bad?

Have him provide this info to you and post them here.
Click on Start => in Quick search type the word cmd on the blank field. From the black screen, type the word ipconfig /all and press enter. Right click on the black screen or Command prompt then choose Select All and Paste the results here.
