Hi, Ive searched high and low on the internet for a solution to my problem but either it hasnt worked or I didnt understand it enough to try as Im not that great with computers.

I've been using a couple of public networks to go on the internet for 3 months with no problems. All of a sudden I can no longer access one of them, I connect to the network and it says the signal is good or very good and connected but it always says 'identifying' under the connection symbol in the bottom right, so I cannot actually gain access to the internet via the other connection. I'm sure its got to be my comuter because a couple of my friends can get on okay but I cant.

Im currently on the other public network and its fine, its only a problem as this network has very limited access to the internet so no straming music, videos, etc so thats why I really want to get back onto the other network.

If anyone can help that would be much appreciated. I have a toshiba laptop with vista operating system.

Is what you call a "public network" a true free-to-the-public network or are you jacking someone's unsecured signal? In either case, have you spoken to the admin of the network in question?

probably tagged your mac number as a service abuser for 'straming music, videos, etc' and are blocking your connection. it happens.

pretty sure the forum rules frown on this kind of activity so...good luck googling.

Hello,

You may try removing all wireless profiles stored in your computer then reconfigure and connect to the SSID you wish to be connected to and make sure to key in the correct security password.

tried it but still doesnt work, can still connect to other networks just not this one in particular. is it possible that ive streamed or downloaded an amount and ive been blocked from using. there is no admistrator or anyone looking after the internet but is it possible that the hotel uses admin from orange (the provider) to keep an eye on use?

A possibility. Perhaps, if you're using any P2P clients to download stuff such as utorrent, kazaa, that can be an issue.

There's not much that we can do to help you out since you don't own the router and it's not your own broadband connection that you're having an issue.
