I have a HP Pavilion TX 2000. About 2 months ago my wireless mouse stopped working. I changed out the batteries and it still doesn't work.

I also tried another wireless mouse, and still nothing.

One mouse is a Tagrus and the other is an HP, if that makes any difference.

Any ideas on how I can fix this?

Can you find a wired mouse to try as a test, or even a usb flash drive to make sure your usb ports are working?

My phone charges when it is plugged in and the cooling pad fans run so I don't think that is it.

Try putting the usb receiver in a different port? You could try removing the mouse from Device Manager, then reboot. When Windows starts it should automatically detect the mouse and try to install software for it. If you have a software disc, you can run its installation.

Go to Start/Run and type devmgmt.msc and press enter. In the Device Manager, do you have any yellow marks, or under USB do you have an Unknown Device? If so, right click it and uninstall it. Unplug the USB wireless controller and restart the computer. When the computer comes up, plug the controller in. Windows should recognize it and install the drivers. Then you have to use the button on the controller to synchronize with the wireless mouse. You also have to turn the mouse over and using a pen, push in the little button to synchronize with the controller.
